5C Mutual Care Framework

Five practices for building a community that can care reliably.

The 5C Mutual Care Framework is one method developed through Our Family Dinner. It gives communities a practical vocabulary for strengthening relationships and coordinating care without presenting one method as the operating system for every Foundation initiative.

01

Commitment

Choose to show up consistently and take responsibility for the health of the community.

02

Connection

Create meaningful relationships through attention, shared experience and repeated contact.

03

Communication

Build clear, trusted channels for listening, sharing and responding.

04

Crisis

Prepare to notice needs and coordinate practical support when difficulty comes.

05

Celebration

Mark milestones, joy and contribution as essential parts of shared life.

Method Boundary

One framework in a broader portfolio.

The framework emerged from Our Family Dinner and especially informs mutual care work. It is not automatically applied to every Foundation program or every mbio product.
